How did MPI start Helping Children?

In May of 1996, Ron made his first visit to an orphanage – the Almazovo orphanage in Moscow. Ron’s heart was touched by the living conditions in that orphanage. When communism fell, institutions for orphaned and abandoned children became underfunded and conditions deteriorated swiftly. After that first visit in 1996, our work with children expanded to many other cities around the former Soviet Union.

Since 1996 MPI has supplied food, medicine, clothing and other vital supplies to many orphanages. We have provided financial support to children’s workers, have assisted with the rescue and rehabilitation of many street kids, have enabled hundreds of children to attend summer camp through various Christian camping ministries, and even visited poverty stricken families supplying them with food, clothing and encouragement.
