How did MPI start Sending Mission Teams?

In May of 1993, Ron took the first team of Canadians on a short term missions trip. The burden God had laid on Ron’s heart for the Slavic people was spreading. Many began to take their commitment to missions one step further. They decided to go, to help and to love the people.

After that first team in 1993, MPI began a yearly tradition of organizing and planning short term mission teams to the former Soviet Union. MPI has facilitated as many as 23 teams in one year. On average, MPI offers two to three open teams each year working in areas of evangelism, preaching and teaching, working with children and seniors, and construction and renovation projects. These Christian mission teams play an important role in Christian outreach and encouragement of the national church.
