Christmas for Seniors 2011

Many seniors remember a day when life was not so hard. A time when they were not as restricted to a tiny pension. A time when they could afford better food. A time when they did not need so much medication. A time when family and friends would gather together for a meal and laughter.

Now, so many of the elderly can’t afford decent food. They can’t pay their heating bill. The medication that is critical for their health and survival uses up most of their pension. Children and grandchildren never come to visit anymore.

Christmas for SeniorsThis Christmas, we can turn those heartaches into joy with a generous food hamper of Christmas goodies delivered by caring Christians. Making sure there are nutritious staple foods like tea, rice, cereal, and sugar along with several treats such as cookies, candies and chocolates, gives each food parcel a holiday flare.

Christmas for SeniorsJust knowing that there are christians that care about them enough to drop in for a visit lets these seniors know they are not forgotten. Each visit comes with the opportunity to pray for each elderly man and woman, read the scriptures together, share stories of encouragement, and give out pamphlets with the christmas story. This time, spent over a cup of tea, becomes the highlight of the season while the food will be savoured for weeks to come.

With the help of many Canadians, we can make this Christmas a time of happy memories for hundreds of seniors who would otherwise have nothing to celebrate at this most joyous of seasons. Thankyou for helping us make it possible to bless these seniors in 2011.
