One
of the most effective ways to make a change in the lives of the
poor and needy in the CIS is to send humanitarian aid to that
area. This has proven to open doors, and allows us to spread
the gospel to the farthest corners of the former Soviet Union,
where Christianity has been scorned and outlawed for so many
years. Find

Unemployment,
a poor health care system, and poverty are common across the
former USSR. From families with young children to elderly shut-ins,
poverty is no respecter of age or occupation.
Through Christian mercy workers in these countries, our goal
is to aid the poor of the CIS by showing them God's love by providing
them with food, clothing and medicine. Find

One
of the primary goals of MPI is to encourage our supporters to
become involved in missions in some way. Our specially designed
group projects is an easy, tangible way to give out of our abundance
to others less fortunate. Easily organized for churches, Sunday
School classes, or women's group's, these projects can be an
inexpensive, hand's on way to be involved in missions.Find

One
of our goals at MPI is to strive to meet as many of the needs
of the suffering and disadvantaged in the CIS as we can. There
are poor, unemployed families who often cannot afford to eat
meat more than once or twice a year. The elderly, who survive
solely on government pensions also struggle to feed themselves.
Imagine living on only $100.00 (US funds) a month?
We long to make a difference to these people, young and old by
purchasing some basic food supplies for them. Donate

In the
CIS, poverty, addictions and abuse have caused thousands of children
to live in misery. Many children live in state orphanages, abandoned
by parents who are either unable or unwilling to care for them.
Other children are living on the city streets, having run away
from abusive homes or drug addicted parents. Many of those children
who do remain at home suffer the effects of extreme poverty.
Andrei Shaitar
works with a team in Belarus to operate camps for young people.
This 'Together' camping ministry owns a property outside of Minsk
where they host camp which change the live of young people for
eternity. Donate now.

Many
villages throughout the former Soviet Union have no Protestant
church for the community to attend. Through Bible Schools such
as the Missionary Training School in Christian Hope Church in
Kiev, Ukraine, pastors are being trained to go and plant churches.
a short-term commitment of three years will assist a church to
be established and reach out to the nearby community. With evangelists
such as Paul Sobol,
outreach meetings can be held to show the love of God to individuals
who have never heard the Gospel.

Throughout
the former Soviet Union drug and alcohol abuse is rampant. Many
die everyday from alcohol or drug related problems. Outside St
Petersburg, Russia there is a drug rehabilitation program. Each
addict stays in the program for 6 months to 1 year and is taught
to provide for themselves. Most importantly each addict is immersed
in a Christian atmosphere and shown the difference that only
Christ can make in their lives. Find

For
several years now, one of our highest priorities has been to
send work teams over to various places in the former Soviet Union
(CIS) to renovate orphanages and churches, work with orphan children
and in many other ways spread the Love of God in practical, tangible
ways. There is no better way to understand the people of the
CIS than to meet them first hand, work along side them and create
lifelong relationships.

One result of the poor
socio-economic conditions in the CIS is a prison system full
to overflowing. To be a prisoner in the CIS is a very serious
thing. Poor nutrition, unsanitary conditions and severe health
risks, are part of everyday life behind prison walls. Sasha Zhodnov, from Krivoy Rog, Ukraine,
was a prisoner himself for over twenty years and knows the ways
of life behind bars. After his sentence, he attended Bible College
and now he and his wife Tanya go into 11 prisons in the Krivoy
Rog region.

From
time to time God leads us to special projects to help meet a
specific need of a partner overseas. For example, in September
of 2007 MPI invited Andrei
Shaitar to Canada to fundraise for a much-needed bus for
their camping ministry.

Every
autumn is Christmas Blessing time at MPI. This yearly project
is designed to give a special blessing to the pastors and workers
that labour in ministry while having so little themselves. In
a society where churches are so poor they often cannot afford
to pay their pastor, there is no room for extras. In honour of
the season, we want to bless each pastor and his family. Donate now.
